Acer Releases Android Based Cell Phones
Acer Inc began to sell its first sell phones that are based on Google’s Android software. One can note that the company that is considered to be the second-largest PC’s manufacturer in the world, it enters the mobile market introducing 10 models this week.
According to Aymar de Lencquesaing, the company did not plan to use any other operating system, but Android that had 3.5 percent of the global smartphone market in September. He also added that the company sis not plan to pursue the leading cellphone makers that offer50-100 new mobiles each year. Acer is targeted at release of 8-10 devices. One should note that a real battle occurred among such manufactures as Asustek, Hewlett-Packard, Lenovo, also Dell is looking forward to enter the market.
Now Nokia is a leading mobile phone manufacturer, began to sell laptops last month.
Nowadays about ten operators offer Acer phones and the company is targeted to get 6 to 7 percent of the smartphone market within 3-5 years. Lencquesaing said that is was the core the company’s strategy.
Analists predicted that by 2014 there would be 500 million units in the smartphone market, it would meant that there would be 0 million-35 million smartphones for Acer.
