Any Changes in Apple’s Revenue?
One should note that Apple’s US retail desktop revenue share for October increased and became 47.71 per cent if compare it with the last year when it was 33.44 per cent. Such figures were taken from the market research company known as NPD, it combined the numbers of in-store and online sales.
Such increase happened due to the release of a range of new iMacs that can be found both in Apple Stores and online on Apple’s welcome page.
Despite the fact that the device was released on 20th October, it was not available until November. A high-end iMac come with a 2.66GHz Intel Core i5 quad-core processor.
Stephen Baker, NPD’s vice president of industry analysis, said words of caution when he was asked by Betanews if Apple was able to keep that percentage share in the course of the time.
Also it was noted by NPD that Apple got more revenue share on small sales because of the cost of buying a new Mac. In October it was possible to purchase the Mac desktop ASP for $1,338, in April it was available for $1,390, in October 2008 one could buy it for $1,581.
New iMac models are offered with new feature, i.e. a new RAM ceiling of 16GB and is able to be configured with up to 2TB of storage. The low-end £949 21.5-inch iMac model comes with a 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 4GB of RAM, a 500GB hard drive, and Nvidia GeForce 9400M video circuitry.
