Now the young actress will be seen in Shyam Benegal`s upcoming film, `Well Done Abba’ where she feels that at the end of it is the talent which plays an essential role.

What keeps Aki so energetic?

March 12th, 2010 Sanjeev Verma No comments

Akshay Kumar had recently undergone a hydro-therapy for his back pain in Germany. Hey, it has nothing to do with his post Blue pattern. However, Aki who is already well known for excessive energy levels has been over charged with this therapeutic break.

He was back into the action as soon as he landed on his home ground.

He rushed for shooting of Vipul Shah’s Action Replay from the airport only and from there he zipped across for a shoot of a song for Housefull. This is not it. Then he ran to the sets of Farah Khan’s Tees Maar Khan. Uff…..this was rather a back-breaking schedule. We wonder Aki, are you a Superstar or a Superman?

Yuvi is most valuable: Preity

March 12th, 2010 Sanjeev Verma No comments

Preity Zinta is a co-owner of the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kings XI Punjab who claims that her team has power and spark to win this edition of the T-20 tournament which starts today. Preity recently participated in the health event which was organized by UNAIDS.

Preity said,” We have a very talented side and we have strong will to go and win the tournament. Last time we had seven injured players which no one could help. I believe an IPL team is judged by the strength of strong domestic players and not the international players. We have three-four new domestic players and I hope they will strengthen the base”.

Yuvraj Singh had led Preity’s team in the earlier IPL editions but this time the team would be lead by Sri Lankan all-rounder Kumar Sangakkara. Enquiring about this variation in captaincy, she said: “Many IPL teams are re-shuffling in batting, bowling and other departments. Sangakkara is a talented man (to lead the team). But Yuvraj is our most valuable player. In our team, I want to say, there is no place for ‘I’. It’s ‘we’. We as a team will win or lose.”

We wish you a very good luck Preity and hope your lucky charm; Yuvi brings a win this time.

Sonam trying to save Masakali!

March 12th, 2010 Sanjeev Verma No comments

Sonam Kapoor captivated her fans with her song Massakali in the film Delhi-6. During the shoot of the melodious song, she also created some kind of bond with the pigeon in it.

When it came in her knowledge that a number of birds get wounded and killed because of the glass coated thread called manjha used in kite flying, she wrote a letter to the Home Minister RR Patil appealing him to forbid the use of manjha in the state.

Sonam’s letter says, “As a way to help protect both human and animal lives, I humbly request your support for the recent ban on manjha in Mumbai as well as your immediate action to extend the ban throughout Maharashtra.”

Sonam was also shocked about a number of deaths and human casualties in the festivals like Makar Sankranti. She was saddened to know that a boy in Mumbai almost lost his life because of glass-coated manjha.

She also added,” A youth was nearly decapitated by a manjha string while riding his bicycle. Such needless loss of life has moved me to take action for the sake of humans and birds alike. The use of manjha may be a source of entertainment for some, but for many families – human and bird – which lose their loved ones, it is a tragedy.”
