Call of Duty Gains Success among Gamers
Activision Blizzard Inc’s waited impatiently for “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2″ video game and finally it was released on Tuesday.
One should say that the game became the biggest and fastest-selling titles in history.
But because of not good conditions in the economy, revenue of video game industry in the United States dropped by 13 percent this year. But despite this fact, it is expected that Call of Duty will get good expectations and a lot of hype.
At the GameStop store that is situated near Union Square in New York City, one could see about 80 mainly young people that were standing in a queue Monday night ahead of the launch.
According to Paola Altamirano, 21, who was in the queue, Call of Duty was the only game she was going to play. Her plan was to play the game with her friend later that night.
But still there are people who doubt about the strong demand for a game.
According to Paul Swiderski, who works at the Union Square GameStop, are eager to get the game and then play it.
It was estimated by analyst’s sales that between 11 million to 13 million game units will be soled by the end of 2009. Call of Duty is considered to get good profits in the fourth quarter.
