Does Anyone Needs Microsoft Office 2010?
According to Microsoft, Office 2010 will become available in June. But still the company is going to launch its cloud-based version of its productivity suite known as Office Web App. Web Apps will be backed up by ads and it will be a stripped-down version. Microsoft decided not to expatiate on the feature list if there is any difference but the company insists that Office Web Apps are not good for writing a term paper.
According to Janice Kapner, Janice Kapner, it is important to have full functionality as when you are working you have an ability to do that deeply. Features are always important, but there is a concern related to the “term paper” usage. “If you talk to a student who is writing a ten page class paper, writing something that long in a Web browser is probably not the best experience,” he said.
It is a bit dangerous to create such product for student, as they used to get almost everything for free or dirt-cheap. In case they are not able to get it for free, they may want to steal it. As for Google, the company decided to move to student-friendly features in Google Docs. There is doubt that student whish to have Web-based productivity as it will be possible to have access of your file from any school computer.
Office Home and Student are considered to be the best-selling version for three years running. In case Microsoft provides free option for Office 2010, the number of people that will have desire to buy Office 2010 in June will diminish.
