googleGoogle is going to launch Google Maps Navigation for its Android 1.6 based older devices. At present the developers are looking for the way in order to plug the service into phones like the T-Mobile G1 and the MyTouch3G.

The software resembles the Google Maps Navigation version that is available for Android 2.0.

But this version will not have such feature as voice command but, nevertheless, it includes the new Layers feature, View My Maps, transit lines, Wikipedia articles and “about places” details.

In order to avail the app, the user will have to go to the Android Market. Also Google provides a “demo” of the app that operates on a Motorola Droid but mind that this video shows the Android 2.0 version.
