Microsoft Banned Players from Xbox Live Service
It became known that Microsoft prohibited a big amount of players from its Xbox Live service that can be used on its Xbox 360 gaming console. It is very important to underline that all players had a common thing, i.e. they altered their console’s hardware in order they were able to make such activities as setting of an alternate OS, playing out of zone media, or running pirated software.
Recently the number of prohibited users was 600,000, but according to CNET more than 1 million players were prohibited to use the server. As Xbox Live has 20 million subscribers, it means that 1 in 20 players was prohibited.
Moreover, the ban concurred with the debut of Activision’s Call of Duty: Modern Wasfare 2.
Microsoft said that the ban is durable for that reason the company offered owners of modded Xbox 360′s to purchase a new console.
But there is a way out, users of banned Xbox consoles can try to restore their profile to another that can help unmodified Xbox 360 console to recommence their Live service.
Microsoft found a solution in order to define modified DVD-drive firmware. Due to alteration the firmware gives a possibility for users to run disallowed discs like media, backup copies of DVDs or games, and even pirated games.
