New Deal of Google with TiVo
Google and TiVo decided to join their hands for mutual deal. TiVo will give an opportunity to watch trends collected from its base of subscribers with Google. As for Google, the company will use that data in order advertisers can determine their targeted audience when purchasing television ads with the help of the company’s AdWords TV Ads system.
According to Todd Juenger, vice president & general manager of TiVo Audience Research & Measurement, it is anonymous data which means that the company ‘does not collect anything about where it came from.’ The only thing that is taken by the company is a logo of commercials that many users watched or skipped.
The program does not differ from Goggle’s TV Ads. Those who want to use Google’s Tv Ads site should have access to second-by-second data that are collected by set-top boxes. According to Google’s Obenzinger, the data was collected only by means of a partnership with Dish Network. But with the new deal, one should unite TiVo’s data with Dish’s in order advertisers could get a minute picture.
