December 12th, 2009 Sidhrath Surana No comments

microsoft-This week one could see the ardent battle between such well-known companies as Microsoft and Goolge. The issue of the battle was the lunched innovations that will be used in 2010 or 2011.

As it was promised by Google, the users are able to utilize real-time search results. Due to such option users are able to get results only a few seconds old when they query a topic.

Also Google introduced Google Goggle this week. It is considered to be a photo-based search.

As for Microsoft, its Bing launched the beta of the latest version of Bing Maps last week.

According to Dan Olds, an analyst with The Gabriel Consulting Group, the search is in the process of changing and it will never stop to do that. People that search for some information will get the same results, but the service itself will be more individualized and there will be more images, video, tweets and posts.

Many analysts consider that because Microsoft and Google compete in order to get a big amount of market share for that reason innovation is likely to appear very often.

“Microsoft’s willingness to invest in search and not just let Google walk away with it is driving a new level of competition,” said Hadley Reynolds, an analyst with IDC. He also said the one should wait the continuation of changes for the next six to nine months.

windows_7_13New Delhi: Microsoft Corp has launched its Windows 7 operating system in the Indian market. It is much hyped for its faster performance and cool new features but some critics are skeptical about it too.

Windows Vista got rave review before its release too but it failed miserably. And now Windows 7 has got similar response after its beta release.

Harry McCracken, who was the Editor-in-Chief of PC World informed “I was the editor of PC World at the time that review was done and yes, I wish in retrospect we’d held to somewhat a higher standard”.

PC World had reported “All in all, Windows Vista is a great leap forward for the operating system.”

Preston Gralla, who gave the earlier comment in PC World added “I certainly have learned from the Vista experience to try as hard as I possibly can to try to get the kind of hardware people are using to review it on..

Similarly, Steve Wildstrom Businessweek, had written “Vista is a big step forward; in time, you’ll want it.” But now he said “If I could go back and do it over, I would be
more negative”.

What’s The Difference Between Windows 7 And Vista?

October 21st, 2009 Sidhrath Surana No comments

windows_7_Microsoft releases Windows 7 that surpasses its predecessor Windows Vista as a whole row of changes were done to the operating system.

The advantages of a new version can be felt right away beginning with installation. Windows 7 requires much less space and resource-intensive. It means that the installation is going to be really fast.

The software that is compatible with Vista in most cases runs with Windows 7 too. Free upgrades can be got from the web.

Windows Easy Transfer is designed to facilitate the transferring of your files to your new Windows 7 computer.

Talking about its look and sound, these characteristics are rather similar to Vista. However, what is peculiar to Windows 7 is that all desktop gadgets can be changed in place just the way you wish, wherever you put them.

Another positive feature about it is that when you have several windows open you can minimize them just by giving your mouse a shake.

Some of the options can be known to Apple fans and work in different Mac OS.

With the new Windows 7 you have a right to choose what files to be shared on a network and what should be kept private.

Another great feature is that it is possible to play a multimedia file to other computers that are in the network.

Windows 7 also has a better search function compared to its forerunner. The search results appear grouped in sub-lists by type. Users are able to make “libraries” of certain types of files.
