The Indian Space Research Organization Sets New Goals
The Indian Space Research Organization is going to enhance the frequency of missions as it sets goals in areas of national development and space science. The organization also wants to make joint working between space, defense, aeronautics and atomic energy sectors.
Launching six or eight missions per year is the aim of the Indian Space Research Organization. The reason of such frequent missions is to achieve goals in national development and space science.
”We must look to create synergy between the space industry and the aircraft, defense and atomic energy sectors,” said K Radhakrishnan, chairman of ISRO. He also added that the Indian space industry was considered to be strong that included more than 500 firms and employing a total of 15,000 people.
The launch is planned for December 2009 but the exact date is still not known.
Radhakrishnan also admitted that Indian space scientists worked out semi-cryogenic propulsion technology that will utilize kerosene and astronauts will be able to launcher rockets in order they can carry nett load of up to six-tones.
As liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen is used by cryogenic technology, semi-cryogenic technology will utilize pure kerosene but not liquid hydrogen.
