The Researches Are Satisfied with the Progress of the Large Hadron Collider
Still researches are working away the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), moreover, they are satisfied with the improvements that were made since the device restarted on Friday.
The task of the LHC is wreck beams of protons in a bid to eradiate light on the nature of the Universe. It is considered to be the largest machine that is situated in a 27km-long circular tunnel under the Franco-Swiss border.
Scientists are making experiments in order to find out if there are signs of the Higgs boson, a sub-atomic particle that are essential to the current understanding of physics. According to scientists such signs really exist but yet they were not found.
Because of an electrical error the device was heavily damaged and, as a result of the error, liquid helium leaked into the tunnel nine days after when the machine was first launched in September last year. The repairs were made during 14 months, the scientists had to replace giant superconducting magnets with the help of which particles at the speed of light quickened.
The European Organization for Nuclear Research (Cern) will create the LHC that will be similar to those that were after the Big Bang.
“We are further advanced now than where we were after five days of experiment last year,” said Steve Myers, Cern’s director of accelerators. He also added that due to the additional year researches upgraded instrumentation and computer software.
