Facebook has become so omnipresent that it is even a bit strange to find a site that does not permit a user to log-in with his Facebook credentials. For that reason it was decided by Google to create its own platform Friend Connect. Nowadays the company launches such feature as Twitter integration.

In case a site has Friend Connect that is already installed, a user is able to log-in using either his Google account or his Twitter account. If the user decided to log-in by means of Twitter credentials, then his username and profile picture are gone through OAuth back to Friend Connect. It means that with the click of a button one can invite friends or check the site. Any comment that is left by users can be tweeted out automatically.

Not so long ago it became known about the fact that Yahoo announced about ponderous Facebook Connect integration.

It still unknown whether Twitter integration will assist Friend Connect to extend the way Facebook Connect. One should note that Twitter needs to have its own “Connect” platform.
