Valve to introduce Steam Games to Apple Mac in April
Valve, the video game developer and distributor has finally announced that it is going to bring its game distribution service Steam and gaming engine Source to the Apple Mac platform. Some of the current Valve and Steam games such as Left 4 Dead 2, Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike, Portal and the Half-life series would be available for Mac in April.
Portal 2 will be Valve’s foremost game to be released on PC and Mac platform concurrently. This game would run natively and won’t need any type of emulation software client. Moreover, both PC as well as Mac based gamers would be able to join the common multiplayer environment.
Valve has the goal to introduce all the future games side by side on Windows, Mac and Xbox 360 platforms. The interesting thing in all this is that the games could be played for free using the Steam Cloud which means that if a game is bought for PC then Steam Play with Steam Cloud will enable playing the same game from the same point on Mac system without buying it again.
